Saw your interview on the news yesterday, after you saved those women from captivity. Thank you.

I understand what it means to be a black man and a felon and kicking in the door of your neighbor even if a “pretty little white girl” is screaming like 10 year hostages with rape babies to save in the early morning. 
Amanda Berry thanks you. Had it not been for your quick thinking and courage in the face of danger she still might be captive in her prison. Georgina DeJesus thanks you. Michele Knight, thanks you. Their families, the city of Cleveland,the state of Ohio, your America thanks you…

Mr. Ramsey, let me apologize for the snickers and tweets. They are not used to your kind in the spotlight. They think that where you are from there is only murder and malevolence. They assume things about you from your gap toothed smile. Your colorful speech and McDonald’s Big Mac menu choice. They think they are better than you. They are not better than you. 

You are a hero. 

They reported of your decade ago transgression you will be proud of the comments in the threads that said,
“SO WHAT!”
I was proud that most saw what is clearly evident that your today was redemption for what was an already remunerated debt. Forgive those reporters. They are being journalist of the worst kind they should be ashamed to drag a hero through the mud as payment for services rendered.

I apologize for the sleepless nights that you will suffer knowing that a girl laid prisoner when you would have freed her for so long, so close that you should have heard her screaming. I pray when you sleep at night you do not hear her screaming. I pray to GOD that the reward money that you refused for her be tithes to the demons that will probably stalk your closed eyes, you do not deserve to lose one moment of sleep…

Chuck, you are wrong. Your arms are not black men’s arms. They are the arms of a savior. A rescuer, an emancipator and as a child of the emancipated you are due the respect that any man would receive who rushed selflessly into service.
